Graduate Software Engineer

Help deliver best-in-class products and custom code bases for the world’s leading biometrics data solutions company.

The Role

As the successful candidate for this position, you will be a key member of the Biometix tech team that consistently deliver best-in-class products and custom code bases in the biometrics industry. Example solutions developed by this team include face recognition liveness detection products, specialist data analytics products, and international data sharing platforms. The successful candidate can expect to work across the full solution stack and on a number of projects at any one time.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Delivery of high-quality code to contribute to the Biometix’ software development capabilities
  • Contributing to the company’s design and requirements engineering capabilities
  • Contributing to the full range of the company’s software engineering/development capabilities, including design, planning, testing, development, and operations.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Experience working in a number of development technologies such as Python and Javascript (ReactJS, NodeJS, AngularJS).
  • Adaptable and able to learn new languages and technologies rapidly
  • Ability to work with the team to address major software engineering challenges, including within requirements definition, architecture and design, information security, or infrastructure
  • A desire to write high-performing code

The following skills will be viewed as advantageous:

  • Experience in enterprise IT projects
  • Experience using cloud services on Azure, GCP or AWS
  • Experience with federal government
  • Technical experience within data analytics, biometrics, or identity

Senior Biometrics Consultant

Work with the the world’s leading biometrics data solutions company to achieve critical objectives on some of Australia’s largest biometric projects.

The Role

As the successful candidate for this position, you work day-to-day with clients to achieve critical objectives on some of Australia’s largest biometric projects as a key contributor to the Biometix consulting team.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Production of high-quality consulting deliverables such as technical reports, project reports, business analysis and subject matter papers
  • Leading the management of key client relationships
  • Communicating with senior leaders regarding biometric projects

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • 5+ years of experience working on biometrics projects in the Australian Federal Government
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of outcomes in a consulting setting or similar
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical external stakeholders

The following skills will be viewed as advantageous:

  • Experience in enterprise IT projects
  • Technical experience within data analytics, biometrics, or identity

The successful applicant may be a professional with a track record of success within the APS who wishes to seek further challenge in the private sector.

Technical Consultant

Work closely on some of Australia’s largest biometric projects with the world’s leading biometrics data solution company.

The Role

As the successful candidate for this position, you will work closely with clients on some of Australia’s largest biometric projects. Adaptability is a critical attribute for the correct candidate. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders in both technical and business areas.

The key deliverables expected from this position include the production of technical consulting reports, business analysis, and project documentation.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ongoing client management
  • Delivery of technical consulting deliverables

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to rapidly learn about biometrics technology and enterprise government systems
  • Ability to undertake business analysis activities
  • Evidence of strong analytical thinking
  • Solution design experience
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, and proven ability to influence technical leaders
  • Excellent communication skills

The following skills will be viewed as advantageous:

  • Experience with federal government
  • Technical experience within biometrics or identity
  • Experience with SQL and/or python data scripting

Graduate Data Scientist

Harness cutting edge data science methods to become a key member of the world’s leading biometrics data solution company.

The Role

As the successful candidate for this position, you will be a key contributor to our data capabilities and be expected to execute analysis and modelling activities. You must be able to harness current data science methods to achieve outcomes for both external clients, and the internal product team. Example problems include algorithm performance analytics, custom computer-vision fraud detection models, and biometric ensemble modelling. This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to improve the data literacy of external and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Delivery of data analysis on biometric data sets
  • Development of high performing models over both structured and unstructured data sets
  • Delivery of analytics consulting reports

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Experience with descriptive and predictive analytics
  • Experience utilising the Python data science ecosystem
  • Experience with SQL and RDBMS technologies
  • Excellent data visualisation and communication abilities
  • Understanding of the machine learning process, including EDA, data wrangling, model tuning and performance measurement
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, and proven ability to influence technical leaders
  • Excellent communication skills
